GOSHEN — The administrator of the U.S. Farm Service Agency wants to be sure eligible farmers vote in their county committee elections. The deadline to return the ballots to local FSA offices is Dec. 3.

“The role and input of our county committee members is more vital than ever,” said Juan Garcia, FSA administrator. “New county committee members provide input and make important decisions on the local administration of disaster and conservation programs.

Farmers who participate in an FSA program are eligible to vote, and if they haven’t received ballots in the mail can get them from the USDA Service Center at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds.

More information on county committees, such as the new 2012 fact sheet and brochures, can be found on the FSA website at www.fsa.usda.gov/elections.
