NAPPANEE — Sarah S. Martin, 97, of Nappanee died in her home at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, from a long illness.

She was born Nov. 29, 1914, to Henry E. and Elizabeth (Shrock) Martin.

She married Herman Martin on Sept. 5, 1936. He preceded in her death in 1971.

Sarah is survived by her sons, Mahlon (Hannah Mary) Martin of Syracuse and Ora (Linda) Martin of Etna Green; daughters Mary Martin of Nappanee, Lena (Loyal) Martin of Goshen, Inez (Vernon) Kurtz of Xenia, Ill., and Sharon (Leland) Shaum of Goshen; 31 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Maryetta Martin of Nappanee and Wilma Zimmerman of Wakarusa.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Ramer Mennonite Youth Center, 24647 C.R. 44. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. The home ministry of the church will lead the service.

Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
