Elkhart police asking for donations for annual Juvenile Christmas Party
The party involves around 120 children between kindergarten and third-grade whom elementary school personnel believe will benefit from attending. Ten students are selected from each school.
The kids will be served a McDonald’s lunch and be entertained by Ronald McDonald. Santa will bring age-appropriate gifts for the children and Dairy Queen is providing treats. Children will also sign Christmas cards for their parents, who will also receive a special gift.
The police department must purchase nearly all of the items needed for the party and has depended on donations to keep the holiday tradition going for more than 25 years. Donations may be sent to Elkhart Police Juvenile Bureau, 175 Waterfall Drive, Elkhart, IN 46516. There are also donation cans in the front lobby of the Elkhart Police Department.
For more information call Detective/Sergeant Duane Clark at 295-7076.
