Hathaway double-double not enough for Goshen College women

GOSHEN — A hot start and a big afternoon by senior Mary Hathaway was not enough for the Goshen College women’s basketball team to pick up its first victory of the season as the Maple Leafs fell 71-65 Saturday to visiting Calumet College of St. Joseph.

Hathaway hit 6-of-10 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line posting a career-high 22 points. She also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to finish with her first double-double in a GC uniform.

Sam Hawk produced 12 points and six rebounds while Jo’Mani Thomas had 10 points and five rebounds for the Maple Leafs (0-4).

Karina Robinson led the Crimson Wave of Calumet (2-1) with 34 points. Raven Phillips added 14 points and 15 rebounds.
