CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — An usher operating the media suite elevator said Alumni Stadium hasn’t seen a gameday atmosphere like this all year.

“We’re going to have 40 cameras on the field tonight,” he noted.

How many is Boston College used to?

He smiled.

“Not 40, I’ll tell you that much.”

No. 4 Notre Dame (9-0) kicks off at Boston College (2-7) at 8 p.m. on ABC. A Notre Dame win puts the Irish undefeated heading into senior week against Wake Forest.

Here are some things to munch on before the game, if you’re not too busy celebrating Alabama’s downfall:

• Notre Dame leads the all-time series with Boston College 12-9, but are only 4-5 when playing at Chestnut Hill. Head coach Brian Kelly is 3-0 against the Eagles. His win in 2010 as a first-year coach snapped Boston College’s six-game winning streak in the series.

• Notre Dame defensive end Stephon Tuitt is just 3.5 sacks away from Notre Dame’s single-season record — 13.5 — set by Justin Tuck in 2003. Considering BC quarterback Chase Rettig is getting knocked down nearly 2.5 times per game, Tuitt has an opportunity to inch even closer to the record tonight.

• Brian Kelly is 7-1 in the month of November at Notre Dame, his only loss coming against Stanford on Nov. 26 last year. Before Kelly’s arrival, Notre Dame had lost eight of its last nine games in November.

• In a battle of brainiacs, Notre Dame leads the nation in Graduation Success Rate in all sports among FBS schools, while Boston College ranks third in the same data.

• Tonight’s coin toss will feature four Wounded Warriors, in honor of Military Appreciation Day

• For the truly obscure, Notre Dame is 5-9 all-time when playing on Nov. 10. The last time was Nov. 10, 2007, when Charlie Weis’s squad lost to Air Force 41-24. Notre Dame’s last win on this date came when head coach Lou Holtz led the Irish to a 34-29 win over Tennessee in 1990.
