GOSHEN — A 49-year-old Goshen man was taken to the hospital with a broken right shoulder Saturday after his motorcycle hit a deer.

Anthony Folker was riding his motorcycle east on C.R. 126 west of Fawn River Court and north of Goshen at about 2:20 p.m. when a deer ran into the road in front of him. His motorcycle hit the deer and he lost control, crashing on the roadway. When Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department Patrolman Kwau Kuntu arrived on the scene, Folker was conscious and breathing with cuts to his head and hand, as well as a broken right shoulder.

Folker was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
