Free glucose testing will take place Nov. 15 at Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library, 209 Lincoln Way East. Nurse Julie Englert will discuss the basics of diabetes and how to prevent or delay progression complications from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and staff will provide glucose testing from 5:30 to 6:30 and 7:30 to 8 p.m. Attendants with diabetes will receive a box of testing lancets.

The center is also teaming up with Michiana Family YMCA to offer discounted medical tests from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at Michiana Family YMCA, 1201 Northside Blvd. The event, “Know Your Important Numbers,” will provide lipid panel testing — total cholesterol, cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and blood glucose. Blood pressure, pulse and body mass index will also be recorded. Attendants can have all tests performed for $50.
