The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and Gun Lake Tribe of Pottawatomi accepted a $4,198,250 grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration on Monday at Pine Creek Reservation Community Center.

The Project LAUNCH grant, Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health, takes a public health approach, coordinating programs that take a comprehensive view of health by addressing physical, emotional, social, cognitive and behavioral well-being of children from birth to 8 years of age, expectant mothers and their families.

A celebration for tribal citizens followed the check presentation.
