Voters in Elkhart County and around the country will head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots to elect the next local, state and federal leaders.
Below is some helpful information for voters.
Polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
POLLING SITES, REGISTRATION STATUS AND BALLOTS
Polling locations, precinct maps, voter registration status and a list of candidates can be found online at www.elkhartcountyclerk.com.
Voter hotlines will be available on Election Day. Voters can find their polling place by calling 535-6469 or 534-5671.
If voters run into problems on Election Day, the Elkhart County Clerkís Office suggests calling 535-6774, 535-6770, 535-6476 or 535-6775. Call 262-4213 to reach the Democratic Party or call 533-1555 to reach the Republican Party.

Voters must present an identification card issued by the state of Indiana or the U.S. government that displays their name and photo. The ID card must be current or expired after Nov. 2, 2010. Other forms of identification including military IDs, state school IDs and passports must meet the same standards.
License branches of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will extend hours of operation today, Nov. 5, and Tuesday to issue ID cards and driverís licenses for voters. Branches will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
License branches will only process new, amended to replacement ID cards and driverís licenses, learner permits and CDLs. Other than disability placards, the branches will not perform any other services.
The Indiana BMV provides free, state-issued ID cards for use at polling places. Documentation required to obtain a new state ID card or driverís license include records that prove identity, Social Security, lawful status and residency. Visit www.mybmv.in.gov for a complete list of acceptable documents.
License branches will resume regular business hours on Wednesday.
OTHER VOTING OPTIONS
Early voting ends at noon today, Nov. 5. Early voting is available at two locations ó the Elkhart County Administration Building, 117 N. Second St. in room 108 in Goshen, and the Elkhart County Courts Building, 315 S. Second St. in Elkhart.

NEED A RIDE TO THE POLLS?
There are a few options for voters who need a way to get to the polls on Election Day.
The Interurban Trolley for Elkhart and Goshen will provide free rides Tuesday to polling locations. Heart City Rider, Goshen Transit Service and ADA riders may also ride free to and from polling sites to vote from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free fare rides will be given only to people going to vote. All other trips will be charged regular fares. Voters must tell Ace Cab that their purpose for the trip is to vote when calling for a ride. Call the Michiana Area Council of Governments at 674-8894 for transit information.
