The animal-friendly event showcased local residents wearing winter fashions from Stephenson’s of Elkhart alongside their furry friends on the runway. Traci Capellman of Fox 28 News and Danny Reynolds of Stephenson’s served as emcees for the show.
“This event has become one of Elkhart County’s most talked about events” said Bernice Simms, event founder and Humane Society board member. “The Furry Friends Fashion Fair is not only an important fundraiser for the Humane Society, but also a fun way to spend your lunch break.”
One of the best parts of the show, said Anne Reel, Humane Society executive director, was seeing former shelter dogs participate in the show with their new owners.
“It’s always a pleasure to see pet owners with their dogs,” Reel said. “That’s what it’s all about: an opportunity for people to express their love for their pets.”
Hosted at the Matterhorn Conference Center in Elkhart, the event included a “swag bag” for guests, a silent auction and raffles. All proceeds benefited the Humane Society of Elkhart County, located in Bristol.
