They were married on Oct. 13, 1962, at Goshen City Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Clarence Fike.
Their children hosted a celebration in their honor with family and friends on their anniversary.
Mr. Petgen is a retired pastor and also was employed in the RV and ambulance industry. Mrs. Petgen worked at First National Bank, Greencroft Healthcare and as a church secretary.
Their children are Michele (Todd) Condon of Jonestown, Pa., Ryan (Teresa) Petgen of Atwood and Carmen (Brad) Sheaffer of New Bloomfield, Pa.
They have 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
