SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Charisse Lynnette Mares and Dustin James Eby were married Sept. 14, 2012, in an outdoor ceremony at The Inn at Stevenson Ridge by Pastor Derry Prenkert of Nappanee Missionary Church.

The bride’s parents are Scott and Dana Mares of Springfield. The groom’s parents are Todd and Sheila Eby of Elkhart, Ind.

Erika Gleason of Springfield was maid of honor. Rachel and Lindsey Mares, sisters of the bride of Springfield, Becca Eby, sister of the groom of Elkhart, Acacia Britton of Annandale, Kiera Haberkern of Springfield and Becky Dolan of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, were bridesmaids. Carson Mares, cousin of the bride of Bidwell, Ohio, was flower girl.

Michael Griggs of Mishawaka, Ind., was best man. Jordan Eby, brother of groom of Elkhart, Ben Fox of New Paris, Ind., Robby Bearss of Wakarusa, Ind., Jordan Taylor of Nappanee, Ind., Jonathon of Chicago and Jacob Bishop of Auburn Hills, Mich., were groomsmen. Andrew Mares, cousin of the bride of Springfield, was ring bearer.

Thomas Mares, brother of the bride of Springfield, Carter Britton of Annandale, Calbe Britton of Annandale, James Caudill, cousin of the bride of Springfield, Mo., and Lee Gleason, T.J. Gleason, Ali Kazmi, Omran Khatib and Daniel McKellop, all of Springfield, were ushers.

The reception was held at the lodge at the Inn at Stevenson Ridge and the couple honeymooned on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. They have made their home in Chesapeake, Va.

The couple met at Moody Bible Institute, where they graduated in May 2012. He proposed at a park right on the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria at a spot in an open area with music and roses, where he read a poem that he had written that ended with him down on one knee. They then dined at the Chart House, where the staff had prepared a table with roses and customized the menus to celebrate their engagement.
