ELKHART — Two people were injured following a head-on collision on C.R. 6 north of the city Friday night.

Stephanie Creech, 22, of South Bend, was traveling north on C.R. 11 when she attempted to turn west onto C.R. 6 and struck a pickup truck that was headed east on C.R. 6 and driven by Brendan Mahaffa, of Bristol, according to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department report.

Although she was attempting to turn into the westbound lane of traffic, the police report said Creech’s vehicle was in an eastbound turn lane when the accident occurred about 9:06 p.m. Friday.

Mahaffa suffered a cut to the head and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital. A passenger in Creech’s vehicle, Lance Williams, 28, of Mishawaka, suffered a cut and hip injury and was also taken to Elkhart General.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage. Creech was not injured, but was ticketed for driving left of center.
