MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Mark L. Wilt American Legion Post 210 invites veterans to bring their families to enjoy the day from 1 to 6 p.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11th.

“We are asking all the veterans in our community, members or not, to come to the Post and celebrate Veterans Day with us,” said commander, Charlie Hostetler.

Food for the day will include sausage, corn chowder, ham and beans, corn bread and desserts.

The Army and the Air Force will compete against the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard to fill donation jars for the Veteran’s Home and Miller’s Vets.

A 50/50 drawing will be held, and prizes will be awarded throughout the day, such as hams and turkeys.

“We also would ask our veterans to wear something such as a hat or shirt signifying which branch of service they proudly served in,” said Hostetler. “If you come in your service uniform I can guarantee you will receive a prize for doing so.”

The day before, Nov. 10, the Sons of the American Legion will have their annual corned beef and cabbage dinner, which is free to Legion members.
