GOSHEN — Two people were injured in a three-car crash on C.R. 22 late Saturday morning.

According to a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Lisa D. Hopkins, 48, of Goshen, was driving south on C.R. 22 south of C.R. 28 at 11:50 a.m. Saturday.

Douglas Beasy, 41, of Goshen, was also headed south and stopped on the road waiting to turn left into a driveway when Hopkins’ car ran into the back of his truck.

After hitting Beasy’s truck, Hopkins’ car veered into the northbound lane of C.R. 22, where it was hit by a delivery truck driven by Rickey Scott, 54, of Elkhart, according to the report.

Hopkins suffered a broken leg in the crash and was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital. As of Sunday afternoon, Hopkins was still in the hospital and listed in fair condition.

Scott was also taken to IU Health Goshen where he was treated and released for neck and shoulder pain.

Beasy was uninjured in the crash.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department cited Hopkins for failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision.
