ELKHART — Marilyn D. Grubb, 85, of Elkhart, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Hoosier Home Care.

Marilyn was born July 23, 1927, in Fremont, Neb., to Glenn and Cathryn (Sexson) Darr.

She married Robert T. Grubb on Aug. 17, 1947, in Elkhart. He passed away May 18, 1983.

Marilyn is survived by a daughter, Tracy Jan (Dr. Matthew) Brennan of Mishawaka; three sons, M. Taylor Grubb of North Webster, M. Todd Grubb of Syracuse and M. Thomas (Beth) Grubb of Elkhart; two granddaughters, Jennifer Grubb and Grace Brennan; two grandsons, Jon (Sarah) Grubb and Nicholas Grubb; and a sister, Suzanne Gardner of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Darr.

Marilyn was a 1945 graduate of Elkhart High School and received an associate degree from Midland Lutheran College, Nebraska.

She worked at Elkhart Community Schools as a secretary.

She volunteered at Ryan’s Place.

Marilyn was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of Rose Circle and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Four Arts, where she was a member of the board, YWCA, Married Women’s Club, Frontiers Club, and was a Past Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Girls.

One of the things that she enjoyed most was playing in her bridge and pinochle clubs.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 26, 2012, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
