The living history event Gathering at Five Medals continues today at River Preserve County Park in New Paris from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This event features historical re-enactors depicting life during the exploration and pre-settlement period of 1650-1815 in the general region which was once known as the Northwest Territory. Participating are numerous artisans, such as blacksmiths, coppersmiths, wood workers, cordwainers, spinners and weavers, and common folk of the frontier such as voyageurs, representatives of various military units, civilian pioneers, Native Americans, hunters and rogues.
