TOPEKA — Donald J. Wittrig, 78, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.

He was born on March 1, 1934 in Elkhart, to the late Paul A. and Effie M. (Wyse) Wittrig.

On July 11, 1954 he married Meredeth Ann Miller in Kouts.

Survivors include his wife; children, Craig (Dee) Wittrig and Christine Wittrig, both of Topeka, and Carla Davis of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren Wendy (Larry) Rex and Jamie Lawrence, both of LaGrange, Cassidy (Jason) Lewallen of Spring Hill, Fla., Jake (Sabrina) Lawrence and Bobby Lawrence, both of Columbus, Neb., and Natasha and Chad Weber, both of Naples; great-grandchildren Tyler, Kira, Marlee, Linken, Adirah, Noah, Owen, Remi, Brayden, Kaydence and Celine; siblings Jean (Charles) Spenser, Miriam (Delbert) Roth and Robert Wittrig; and several nieces and nephews.

His granddaughter Melissa Julian and son-in-law Michael Davis preceded him in death.

Visitation is for two hours prior to the 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, memorial service at Topeka Mennonite Church.

Memorials may be contributed to Topeka Mennonite Church.
