Lane restrictions apply on U.S. 6 in Elkhart County
A small bridge over Kiefer Ditch along U.S. 6 is to be replaced and the lane restrictions will apply as a temporary runaround is built ahead of the bridge work next spring. Traffic will be intermittently restricted to one lane in alternating directions in the zone, about two miles east of S.R. 15, controlled by flaggers.
The restrictions started Friday.
Intermittent lane restrictions on U.S. 6 between S.R. 13 and C.R. 43 in Elkhart County near the Noble County line are also in effect as a runaround is built ahead of replacing the small bridge over Blue Ditch. Those, too, are expected to remain in effect until Nov. 22.
