MISHAWAKA — Senior halfback Michael Whitfield scored four touchdowns Friday night as Marian defeated Normal West (Ill.) 49-21 in an intrastate battle at Otolski Field.

Whitfield, who rushed 10 times for 141 yards, scored on runs of 43, 1 and 67 yards, while also catching a touchdown pass of 16 yards from quarterback Vince Ravotto. Ravotto was 4-of-6 for 107 yards for the Knights.

Marian, now 6-3, will host Gary Wallace next Friday in the first game of the Class 3A sectional.
