ELKHART — Police responded to home invasions early on Tuesday and Thursday in Elkhart County.

On Tuesday a woman called Elkhart Police Department in reference to an attempted burglary at her home on Division Street, according to a report from the Elkhart Police Department. According to the victim, two unknown people pried open her front door around 7 a.m. and fled when the victim’s son turned on the lights. The door and lock sustained $50 in damage.

On Thursday another woman called the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, saying she came inside her residence on the 28000 block of Broad Avenue around 6:43 a.m. and saw a person inside the house. The victim said the suspect threatened her and she fled to contact police, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Police said the suspect made forced entry to a side door of the home, but it was not clear if anything was missing. Police are still investigating the case, said Lt. Travis Adamson, a public information officer for the sheriff’s department.
