DOWAGIAC, Mich. — James Bruce Lukkarila, 69, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
Bruce’s life began on Oct. 18, 1942, in Cincinnati, the son of Hugo and Eleanor Lukkarila.
He had been employed by Michiana Cablevision Corporation. He had owned a restaurant in Elkhart and after it had closed, he worked for UTI and created websites until his illness.
Bruce enjoyed tinkering with electronics, photography, fishing and he was a strong advocate of the National Rifle Association. He also enjoyed woodworking.
His loving family includes his children Ken (Joey) Lukkarila of Wakarusa, Ind., and Darrell “Scott” (Karen) Lukkarila of Buchanan; his children’s mother, Sue Lukkarila of Buchanan; grandchildren Erik, Kristi, Austin, Devon, McKayla, Kaitlyn and Jared; and sisters Sandy (Eric) Walstrom of Newport News, Va., and Sue (Jim) Carroll of Westfield, N.J.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
At Bruce’s request, there will be no funeral services.
