Four Michiana troopers honored by Indiana State Police

Four local Indiana State Police troopers were honored at a recent award ceremony held in Indianapolis. Master Trooper Michael Gruett, of the Bremen post, won the Trooper of the District Award. He has been with the state police since 1985. Master Trooper Stephen Fulk, from the Toll Road post, also won the Trooper of the District Award. He has been a trooper since 1987.

Trooper John Wilson from the Bremen post was honored with the Life Award for his 69 OWI arrests and Trooper Matthew Lazoff from the Toll Road post also won the Life Award. Lazoff had 68 impaired driving arrests last year. Wilson and Lazoff have both been troopers since 2007.
