Elkhart robotics tourney Thursday

ELKHART — Teams from Elkhart elementary and middle schools will compete in the third annual Elkhart Community Schools Robotics Tournament on Thursday at Cleveland Elementary School. The tournament starts at 3:30 p.m.

Each individual Elkhart school will have one team advance to the FIRST Lego League ETHOS Qualifying Tournament at Memorial High School on Nov. 10, according to information from Elkhart Schools.

The top scoring teams from the qualifying tourneys will earn a spot in the state tournament to be held at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne in December.

According to information from Elkhart Schools, each team had less than 10 weeks to design and build a motorized Lego robot and program it to do certain tasks.

The Elkhart tournament is open to the public at no charge. Cleveland Elementary is at 53403 C.R. 1 N.
