Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services will offer an Emergency Medical Training course from 6 to 10 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday beginning Oct. 15 through April 2013 at Elkhart General Health Education Center, 2222 Rieth Blvd. The class will teach the concepts, information and skills needed to safely assess and treat patients in pre-hospital emergency situations. Training includes classroom instruction and clinical rotations at Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Department and an emergency ambulance. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to take the National Registry/Indiana State Written and Practical Skills Exams. Students must have a high school diploma or GED, hepatitis vaccination, MMR vaccination, varicella immunity, tetanus immunization within the past 10 years, recent tuberculosis test, valid Healthcare Provider Level CPR card and be at least 18 years of age.
