SYRACUSE — Edith A. Avery, 76, of Syracuse, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at home.
She was born in LaGrange to Moses E. and Goldie F. (Miller) Mast and was married Aug. 25, 1954, in Syracuse to Owen D. Avery.
Surviving are daughters Sharon (Dewayne) Lemler of Nappanee and Esther (Gary) Fisher of Leesburg; stepsons Frederick (Eleanor) Avery of Plymouth, Jimmie (Crystal) Avery of Syracuse and Allen (Carol) Avery of Syracuse; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and siblings Lillian (Randy) Oakes, Evelyn (Karl) Penndrill and Irma Yakim, LeRoy Mast and Alvin (Cheryl) Mast.
Preceding her in death were her husband, three sons, two grandchildren, a great-grandson, a stepgrandson, and nine siblings.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 9, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 Huntington St., Syracuse, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
