Posted: 10/07/2012 at 11:00 am

Saturday night, the ESPN College GameDay Twitter account announced something Notre Dame fans haven't heard since 2005: Lee Corso and the gang will be in South Bend for next week's game.

For the first time since Oct. 15, 2005, the popular televised college football pre-game show will broadcast from Notre Dame's campus. The show will happen before next Saturday's game against 4-1 Stanford. College GameDay, in its 26th year, will be making its eighth visit to Notre Dame. The Irish are 3-4 when the ESPN crews make an appearance.

The Irish handled Miami, 41-3, at Soldier Field in Chicago this weekend, while the Cardinal beat Arizona 54-48 at home in overtime.

College GameDay will air live at 9 a.m. on ESPNU and 10 a.m. on ESPN with host Chris Fowler, analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, host/reporter Samantha Steele and Tom Rinaldi.
