The couple was married Oct. 7, 1972, at First Mennonite Church in Middlebury.
Mr. Bontrager works at Jayco Inc. of Middlebury and Mrs. Bontrager is a building assistant at Northridge Middle School.
To celebrate, the couple is taking their children and their families to Siesta Key, Fla., in June 2013.
Their children are Matt (Erica) Bontrager of Georgetown, Texas, Heidi (Tyler) Garber of Middlebury, Alicia (Eric) Burns of Cassopolis, Mich., and Wes (Jena) Bontrager of Goshen.
They have nine grandchildren.
