Elkhart County under freeze watch late Sunday, Monday morning

The Elkhart County area will be under a freeze watch Sunday night and Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Here is a statement issued by the weather service:

“FREEZE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING

HAZARDOUS WEATHER

TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL INTO THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S SUNDAY NIGHT

ALLOWING WIDESPREAD FROST TO DEVELOP AROUND DAYBREAK MONDAY MORNING. IMPACTS

SENSITIVE VEGETATION COULD BE DAMAGED OR KILLED IF LEFT UNPROTECTED. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

A FREEZE WATCH MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE. THESE CONDITIONS COULD KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.”
