WNIT to televise debates

SOUTH BEND — WNIT Public Television will broadcast a series of debates leading up to the Nov. 6 general election.

Each program will air on channel 34.1 at 7 p.m., except for the 2nd District U.S. House debate, which airs starting at 6 p.m. Here’s a list of the planned TV debates:

• Oct. 10, 17 and 25, between the three Indiana gubernatorial hopefuls, Republican Mike Pence, Libertarian Rupert Boneham and Democrat John Gregg.

• Oct. 15 and 23 between the hopefuls for one of Indiana’s U.S. Senate seats, Republican Richard Mourdock, Libertarian Andy Horning and Democrat Joe Donnelly.

• Oct. 28 in the race for Indiana’s 2nd Disrict U.S. House seat. The hopefuls are Republican Jackie Walorski, Democrat Brendan Mullen and Libertarian Joe Ruiz, though Walorski has declined an invite to take part.
