Walks to raise funds to battle hunger are set for Elkhart and Goshen.

The CROP Hunger Walks will start at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Island Park in Elkhart and at Shanklin Park in Goshen. Elkhart’s is now in its 33rd year while Goshen is holding the event for the first time.

Around 2,000 locales nationwide host CROP Hunger Walks, sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local volunteers. A portion of the funds raised in Elkhart go to Church Community Services and a portion of the Goshen money goes to The Window. Funds also go to battle hunger worldwide, notably in Haiti.

For more information call Dale Stickel at 522-7555 on the Elkhart walk or Ed Swartley at 215-8958 on the Goshen walk. To donate or sign up go to www.cropwalkonline.org.
