Women’s political rights focus of planned Elkhart Chamber of Commerce luncheon

ELKHART — The Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce Women’s Council plans a networking luncheon with the theme “Political Rights — A Woman’s Battle … Where We Are Today.” The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Lerner Crystal Ballroom, 410 S. Main St.

@Normal:Leading the discussion will be Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, associate professor of political science and campus director of the American Democracy Project at Indiana University South Bend. Bennion will provide a history of the women’s movement in securing the right to vote and give a glimpse at what has, and has not, changed regarding women’s political rights.

The luncheon costs $15 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers. To register contact the chamber at 293-1531 or www.elkhart.org.
