Boys Soccerto face Bethany



Bethany Christian used a smothering defense and goals from Caleb Morris and Tyler Brenneman to beat LaVille 2-0 in the semifinals of the Class 1A boys soccer sectional at Marian.

The Bruins didn’t allow a shot on goal in the game, while Morris (34th minute) and Brenneman (36th) scored just two minutes apart in the first half.

Bethany, which reached the state semifinals last season, will face the host Knights, who cruised passed Glenn, 4-0. The title game is set for noon Saturday.

Penn edged host South Bend Adams 1-0 in the Class 2A Adams Sectional thanks to a penalty kick goal from Edson Zamora in the 64th minute. The Kingsmen will play South Bend Riley in the championship match.

Westview and Wawasee each saw their seasons end with semifinal losses.
