WACO, Texas — Patricia Cudney, 78, of Waco, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012.

Private family services will be held at a later date with her final resting place in Portland, Ore.

Patricia was born April 17, 1934, in Eugene, Ore., to Frank and Frieda (Larson) Gillespie. She loved all sports, and especially enjoyed playing competitive volleyball when she was young. She later went on to becomes a USVBA volleyball official, where she witnessed many talented players of the game. Patricia also loved square dancing and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kevin Bower.

Survivors include husband Robert Cudney of Waco; daughters Kathy (Jeff) Visger of Eugene; Michelle (Jacky) Felkner of Waco; son Terry Bower of Bend, Ore.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and stepmother Mary Gilliam and husband, Robert, of Portland, Ore.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nursing staff at Providence Hospital and Providence Hospice.
