ELKHART — Mildred M. Sanders, 93, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Dayton, Ohio, to Edward and Mary Jane Elizabeth (Airsman) Vickers.

On Nov. 27, 1937, in Elkhart, she married Arthur C. Sanders. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1996, in Elkhart.

Surviving are a daughter, Joan Hurley, and two sons, Richard A. Sanders Sr. and Ronald L. Sanders, all of Elkhart. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Mildred was a homemaker who enjoyed camping, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and listening to country music. She also loved to clean her house.

She was a member of Adamsville Road Church of God.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Bracker will preside.

Burial will follow in Chapel Hill memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be given to Adamsville Road Church of God or to Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
