Gross receipts are close to figures from last year’s event, said Kent Miller, co-chair of the relief sale.
Miller said he thinks cold, wet weather may have been a factor in smaller-than-hoped-for crowds this year at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Total sales, so far, are $330,933, according to Miller.
However, the tally does not include money generated from the silent auction, which was a new event this year.
Miller said he believes money generated from the auction could push total sales significantly higher.
Sales were broken down into several categories: quilt auction, $105,625; new and used auction, $8,490; food, $131,000; Penny Power, $23,000; other sales, $62,818.
