GOSHEN — Ella M. Fields, 55, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 19, 2012, at her home after battling cancer for 2½ years.

She was born Dec. 30, 1956, in Maysville, Ky., to Charles and Julia B. (Jones) Simms. She married John “Reg” Fields on July 10, 1980, in Goshen. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, James Fields of Goshen, Marissa K. Fields of Fort Wayne and Charlene Alexis Fields of Goshen; a brother, Clifford Simms of Ashland, Ky.; and two sisters, Rose Langford of Flemingsburg, Ky., and Martha Simms, Maysville.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, follwed by a 4 p.m. funeral service with Timothy Yoder officiating. Following the service, the celebration of Ella’s life will continue at her home.

In keeping with Ella’s wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps. Toys for Tots, Bashor Children’s Home, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
