Man, teenager, arrested Saturday for armed robbery in Elkhart

Elkhart police are investigating a possible armed robbery at La Michoacana, 246 West Lusher Avenue, on Saturday. A vehicle matching a description of the get-a-way vehicle was stopped in the 300 block of Marion Street. Police took four people into custody from that vehicle.

Elkhart police are investigating a possible armed robbery at La Michoacana, 246 West Lusher Avenue, on Saturday. A vehicle matching a description of the get-a-way vehicle was stopped in the 300 block of Marion Street. Police took four people into custody from that vehicle.

Justin Quinones, 18, of 409 Harrison St., Elkhart, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested for committing armed robbery at La Michoacana Ice Cream, on 246 W. Lusher Ave.
Police had been dispatched to the ice cream shop around 2:39 p.m. and were told that two white men had left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects had displayed a gun during the robbery, according to a press release from the Elkhart Police Department.
The suspects were seen getting into a black SUV. The car was located by a police officer, who was able to match the description of the suspect vehicle.
Quinones was booked at the Elkhart County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
