Crash east of Elkhart sends two to hospital

Emergency personal were called to a car and van accident about 4 p.m. at the corner of C.R. 17 and C.R. 18 Monday afternoon September 10, 2012. Two patients were transported to Elkhart General Hospital with minor injuries according to Elkhart County Sheriff Department's Ptl Kwau Kuntu.
The van caught fire and was extinguished by the Jefferson Fire Department.

The mishap this afternoon occurred when a car headed south on C.R. 17 turned east onto C.R. 18 into the path of a northbound van, according to Patrolman Kwau Kuntu of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
Two people, one from each car, were transported to Elkhart General Hospital for what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Their names and other details weren’t immediately available.
The van caught fire after the accident and was partially torched. As of around 4:45 p.m., the northbound half of C.R. 17 was partially restricted to traffic.
