NEW PARIS — The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that one person died this afternoon, Sept. 8, in a car accident south of New Paris.

Emergency workers responded to a crash in the southern part of the county. The crash happened after 6 p.m. on U.S. 6 about a mile east of S.R. 15. Details are pending. The sheriff’s department is expected to release more information tonight.
