Citizens Criminal Justice Academy now accepting applications

ELKHART — The fifth annual Citizens Criminal Justice Academy will begin on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.

The classes will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. primarily at the IUSB Elkhart campus.

It is open to all members of the community who meet certain requirements. Participants will tour the Prosecutor’s Office, Elkhart County Correctional Facility and the Elkhart County Courthouse throughout the course of the class. They will also be educated about the criminal justice system and functions of the various local departments.

Applications are required and space is limited. The application deadline is Sept. 13. There are no fees.
