SOUTH BEND — Gas prices will likely increase 10 to 35 cents per gallon by the end of the weekend. Many gas stations are already nearing $4 per gallon.

Tropical Storm Isaac is largely to blame for the sudden spike, according to a press release from GasBuddy.com. Wholesale gasoline prices for new shipments rose by 35 cents per gallon Monday. GasBuddy.com reports that the rise is temporary, but prices may take a few weeks to drop.
