ELKHART — Mary Beck Elementary in Elkhart will again have students walk a path through the school’s neighborhood during its annual Peace Walk.

The walk will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 21. Students will walk from the school at 818 McDonald St. to Princeton Boulevard to Middlebury Street to Madison Street to Aspenwald Avenue to Princeton Boulevard to Congress Street and back to the school.

This year, the school is inviting neighborhood community members to join in the Peace Walk. Everyone participating is encouraged to wear a yellow or black shirt, coordinating with the school’s No Bully Zone colors, or a shirt with a peace sign on it. Michelle Atayde, Beck’s parent resource coordinator, also said that students will take home instructions to their parents on how to make pinwheels that families can place in their front yards “to help cheer our students on.”
