ELKHART — Ernest Kenneth Poling, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Woodlawn Manor in Elkhart.

He was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Elkhart to Robert and Hazel (Butler) Poling.

Ernest is survived by his brothers, James (Carol) Poling of Normal, Ill., Gene (Pat) Poling of Elkhart and Herman “Ed” (Blanche) Poling of Wakarusa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Oliver Poling and Robert Poling Jr.; and sisters Frances Poling, Shirley Ann Poling, Mary Marie Poling, Barbara June Poling and Carolyn Slabaugh.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 20, 2012, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Pastor Joel Gentz of Bethel Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery in Atwood.
