ELKHART — Freida L. Pettit, 75, of Elkhart, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Valley View Health Care Center.

She was born March 6, 1937, in Elkhart to Lawrence and Mildred (Fishley) Pettit.

Surviving are a sister, Loretta Luke of Elkhart; and seven nieces and nephews, Connie LeFever, Kathy Mark, Michael Luke, Mitchell Luke, Tina Ashe, Pam Lovely and Julie Ivers.

Visitation for Freida will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Hope Mausoleum at Rice Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
