A teenager believed to be involved in the murder of James Grant, know as Tyrannosaurus Rex Mullins, was arrested Friday night in Elkhart.

Brandon Lee Johnston, 17242 Hoffman Road, Three Rivers, Mich., was arrested at 828 Lusher Ave. around 9:15 p.m. and was booked at the Elkhart County Jail without a bond.

Grant was found dead in his residence at 1701½ Morton Ave. on Aug. 4. Grant appeared to have suffered several sharp force injuries. Grant’s cause of death was due to numerous sharp force injuries to the chest, head and neck, according to Ed Windbigler, chief investigator at the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s office.

Johnston was identified as a suspect during the course of the investigation led by the Elkhart Police Department. A warrant was issued on Friday, leading to his arrest.

Johnston’s initial hearing has been set for Thursday 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Elkhart Circuit Court.
