ELKHART — Terry L. Trindle, 72, of Elkhart, died at 5:12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence.

Terry was born Jan. 27, 1940, to Henry N. and Dorothy I. (Johnson) Trindle. He married Sandra Jean DeCamillo on July 22, 1967, in Elkhart.

She survives along with a daughter, Stacey Peters of Elkhart; two sons, Todd (Amy) Trindle of South Bend and John (Kelly) Trindle of Romeoville, Ill.; a sister, Joan (James) Stiver of Middlebury; and four grandchildren, Nathan, Nicole, Morgan and Katie.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry was a 1958 graduate of Elkhart High School. Terry worked as a product engineer at Kelsey Hayes for 15 years, then at Dexter Axle for 23 years before retiring in 2007.

Terry was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. He was a drummer in several local bands, including The Dukes.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling and crossword puzzles. Terry was an avid Purdue fan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force National Guard.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at the funeral home. The Rev. John Hogsett is officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice or the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
