JIMTOWN — Brody Olson tossed two touchdown passes and Devan Emerson busted his way for 118 rushing yards as Jimtown opened the 2012 football season with a 27-0 win over NorthWood.

Olson beat the Panther secondary deep with a 47-yarder to Carter Gill to make it 14-0 early in the second quarter. A Marquis Scheiber interception and 39-yard return then set up a 1-yard TD run by Casey Adams as the Jims bolted out to a 20-0.

“We didn’t drive the ball ... we kind of big-played them early,’’ said Jimmie coach Mike Campbell. “Defensively, it was bend but don’t break, but we gave up too much on the edge and we let them option us and trap us.”

Will Kirkwood, NorthWood’s first-year starting quarterback, carefully moved the ball for the Panthers, but they could never drive deep in th JHS territory.

“I was really happy with the offense. I thought we moved the ball well. We just need to finish off more drives and that comes with experience,’’ said Scott Hoover, NorthWood’s coach.
