According to Elkhart Police Department spokesperson Laura Koch, a female child was shot and transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend and an adult male was shot and transported to Elkhart General Hospital.
A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, heard three or four shots and saw two people flee southbound.
The neighbor said the girl was 7 and the man was the girl's father.
The conditions of the victims were unknown.
