Changes coming to Middlebury library
The Elkhart County Council gave approval Saturday to the library to issue up to $580,000 in bonds that will pay for a new paint job, flooring, energy efficient lighting and computers.
“The library gets a lot of traffic, so we’re excited to be able to do this” library director Terry Rheinheimer said.
The library’s technology plan, Rheinheimer said, suggests replacing computers every three to five years. The library has 23 computers that are 2007 model or older, she said. Next year, the library will have 44 that are 2009 or older.
The library’s bonds will be paid off over four years. Annual payments are expected to be about $152,000.
